These businesses located at the Dothan Regional Airport make a major contribution to the Wiregrass economy. They not only generate revenue to help maintain and operate the airport, they create jobs and provide tax dollars. The businesses and agencies at the airport annually generate over 55 million in revenue which goes into the local economy. They provide jobs for approximately 900 persons and pay more than 15 million in salaries which were spent in the Wiregrass area. The Dothan Regional Airport is a major industrial engine for the Wiregrass area.

The citizens of the Wiregrass area should protect their investment in the Dothan Regional Airport by using the facility and its services whenever possible. If these services are not used there is good reason to believe that the services will be lost (i.e. Republic Airlines). Maintaining good air service from Dothan to other points in the U.S. requires all of the citizens of the area to use the service available. If the airlines are not fully used, the airlines will remove aircraft from this market and relocate them in a market that is more profitable for the airline.

It is the goal of the Dothan Houston County Airport Authority to provide the type of air transportation service most desired by the citizens of the area. The best endorsement of what is desired or is not desired is whether the public uses the services offered. Whenever you fly, fly out of the Dothan Regional Airport. Remember, when you fly out of Dothan, you are doing your part to preserve the outstanding facility which we currently enjoy and you are helping build statistics which will attract better air service for the future.
